The Circle

Hired by the world’s largest social media corporation, a young woman embraces The Circle’s ideology of complete transparency and, at the risk of alienating friends and family, allows her every waking moment to be broadcast to the world.

ClearPlay in Action!

The movie contains mild profanity and one f-word, so filters will eliminate those 32 language instances, along with 12 sensual situations, 1 disturbing image, and 1 moment of substance abuse. The filtered movie is appropriate for teens and adults.

Will The Circle draw you in? …

The film’s premise—privacy is theft and therefore the world has the right to observe your every move—sets my teeth on edge. I guess that’s how it obtained “thriller” genre status. The lackluster film shines a light on social media absurdities one moment and pushes propaganda the next, but despite its flaws, it sparks some interesting conversations with family. Go ahead and watch it, I won’t know. (Or will I?)
